Beijing, Tianjin and Chongqing, 10 – 24 July 2016

La Trobe University 3rd year students and professionals with an interest in the field are warmly invited to take part in our Environment and Sustainability in China Study Tour (POL3ESC).
In our itinerary we will explore how local actors in Beijing, Tianjin and Chongqing—including international agencies, government departments, agricultural businesses, community groups and academic researchers—grapple with environmental challenges.
The study tour is a collaborative venture between La Trobe University’s Department of Politics and Philosophy, La Trobe Asia, the LTU Confucius Institute and local partner CERES Global, led by Dr Ben Habib from La Trobe University and Ben Walta from CERES Global.

For La Trobe University Students:
The China Environment and Sustainability Study Tour (POL3ESC) is a credit-bearing elective subject open to 3rd year students from all disciplines worth 15 credit points. To apply, email the following documents to Dr Ben Habib (b.habib@latrobe.edu.au) by 5.00pm on Wednesday March 23rd:
- Copy of your CV.
- Academic transcript.
- Cover letter explaining in 50 words how this study tour will enhance your study program.
In-country tour cost: $2,500
- Includes accommodation, meals and internal travel.
- Return flights from Australia, Chinese entry visa, travel insurance and spending money are not included and will be an additional expense.

CERES Global invites runs unique participatory, cross cultural, educational and skill sharing programs. E ach year we take people with us to visit, learn from and work with our international partner organisations all doing exceptional work in the areas of sustainability, environment, community development, social equity and education. The Environment and Sustainability in China Study Tour is one of our most exciting ventures.
In addition to information exchange and friendship-building, through this study tour we would like to establish a network of professional contacts between Australia and China that leads to long-term benefits and collaboration between our student participants and our friends in China. The tour also provides an opportunity for professional participants to mentor and network with student participants.
Cost for the 2 week program is $1960.
- This covers all in country food, accommodation, and transport. Costs of the trips do not include flights which will need to be organised by each participant.
