Social media can be a valuable tool that community groups can use to publicise their activities and reach a wider and more diverse audience, without the pitfalls of relying on traditional media outlets for publicity.
On Thursday 2nd May 2013 I conducted a workshop for members of various community organisations from northeast Melbourne area, exploring the possibilities and benefits open to community groups who engage with the public strategically through social media platforms.

The workshop was hosted by the Montmorency Community Group, a member organisation of Transition Banyule. Special thanks also to Montmorency Primary School for providing the workshop venue. Finally, thank you to the workshop participants, whose energy and enthusiasm made this a special event.
